Board of Stewards

Board of Stewards

Supports the pastor and ministries of the church. Stewards participate
in Sunday Worship, Bible Discovery Hour, Weekly Bible Study and other
ministry activities.

Daughters of Sarah

Daughters of Sarah

Provides fellowship, empowerment and spiritual enrichment to women
through a variety of programs. Activities include community outreach, health and wellness sessions and spiritual discussions.

Catherine Johnson Women’s Missionary Society

The Catherine Johnson Women's Missionary Society

Dedicated women with a true desire to help people grow in the
knowledge and experience of God through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Provides training and carries out mission work.

Teenagers

Youth Ministry

Strives to teach children and youth about the awesome power of God’s
love and His redemption. Teaches young people values and the Word of God through Children and Youth Church, Dance Ministry, Young
People’s Department (YPD) and Youth Choir.

Stewardess Board
Prepares sacraments for Holy Communion and Baptism. Assists clergy in delivering communion to those who are sick or homebound.

 

Sons of Allen
A ministry of males bonding and working together to build God’s
kingdom. Sons of Allen helps men recognize their duty to God, family
and community.

 

Board of Trustees
Responsible for taking care of all of the properties of the church.
Trustees are nominated by the pastor and elected annually.


Class Leaders
Class leaders connect with church members, provide them with
information and inquire about their health and well-being. In times of
need, sickness or bereavement in a class member’s life, their class
leader is among the first to offer assistance and condolences.

Department of Christian Education
Responsible for developing a comprehensive and unified program of
Christian education, which includes knowledge of the Holy Scriptures,
the Christian religion, and implementing Godly values in daily life.


Bible Discovery Hour
Offered every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Presents students with a
comprehensive look at God’s Word and how to apply it to their lives.
Provides classes for all ages.


Bible Study
Offered every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Under the leadership of Rev. Dr.
Alesia Ford-Burse, this ministry provides transformative, uplifting and
inspirational study of God’s Holy Word. Each lesson is structured to
reach students of varying levels of Bible knowledge.

Prayer Warriors
This Spirit-filled group strengthens the bond of St. Paul through the
power of prayer and shares His grace, goodness and mercy through
praise, worship and testimony. Members also offer intercessory prayer.


New Members Class
New members at St. Paul are welcomed into a nurturing environment
where they can attend orientation and training classes especially
designed for them. They receive information about St. Paul and the

A.M.E. Church and are given opportunities to express themselves on
spiritual issues.

The Help Ministry – Outreach/Evangelism
Members volunteer for feed the homeless and provide assistance to
families in need. They invite and encourage people to attend Sunday
Worship, Bible Study and Bible Discovery Hour.


The Usher Board
The ushers express warmth and kindness as they greet those entering
the sanctuary. Ushers identify available seating, distribute worship-
related materials and help facilitate the offerings.


The Music Department
This ministry leads and facilitates the congregation in worship of Jesus
Christ through music and song. The ministry’s goals are to bring glory
and praise to God and strengthen and unify the church body through
praise and worship.


The Kearse/ Bryant Lay Organization
All persons except members of the clergy are lay persons. This ministry
encourages the laity to support church programs. It educates the laity
on church history, development and African Methodist Episcopal
Church guidelines. Conducts workshops to promote evangelism and
stewardship training.


Loving Care and Visitation Ministry
Provides spiritual support, encouragement, caring and knowledge

of available community resources to fellow members who are
experiencing a health or grief crisis. Through in-person or virtual home
visits, this ministry maintains contact with individuals to assure them
that their church family is present and able to lend spiritual support.

Health Ministry/ Exercise Ministry
Focuses on the health and well-being of individuals and their families
through a variety of activities. Assist those who may become ill during
worship service or event.


Prison Ministry
Provides correspondence, spiritual encouragement and intercessory
prayers to incarcerated brothers and sisters. Recipients do not need to
be members of church to receive support.


The Transportation Ministry
Provides transportation to Sunday Worship and other events.
Transportation is available for both local and out-of-town meetings.


Security Ministry
Maintains a safe environment for all who attend Worship Services and
other church activities.
